Plan for handling an emergency situation
A contingency plan is actively used in the management of an emergency situation. The purpose of this plan is to have a quick and effective action plan in the event of an undesirable cybersecurity incident and to reduce the extent of the damage. The contingency plan describes who, does what, when, how and to what effect.
By working proactively, incident management and communication internally and externally to relevant parties will become more time-efficient and less person-dependent, and become a more standardized process. Efficiency and time spent are crucial factors in reducing the extent of damage caused by an incident.
Through the project, Netsecurity contributes by arranging workshops in collaboration with the customer to provide advice and recommendations on how to handle an emergency situation.
The result is delivered in the form of a contingency plan including an administrative part and an operational part. The administrative section describes how the company's emergency preparedness is organized, coordinated and documented. It also describes the principles, priorities and methods that will guide the organization of emergency preparedness and the exercise of emergency management in the company. The operational section describes how emergency situations in the company should be handled and documented in practice.
