How Netsecurity helps Cyviz with 24/7 cybersecurity
With employees in all corners of the world and an IT department of just two people, Cyviz has had to take some clear steps to ensure both operations and data security. They chose Netsecurity as their security partner - and it has yielded results both internally and for their customers.
Cyviz delivers next-generation collaboration solutions in a combination of proprietary hardware and software. The company is headquartered in Norway, but has employees and customers in all time zones. In such a reality, it is crucial that security is in place around the clock.
- "Our IT department consists of two people, which makes it impossible to cover the approximately 180 employees spread across almost all time zones," says Simon Berntsen, IT Manager at Cyviz.
- "24 hours a day, 365 days a year, there will always be someone at work who will need assistance in the event of a security incident. "We would have had to increase our staff considerably to have the same coverage as we have today with Netsecurity as our security partner. This means that we in the IT department can sleep soundly knowing that someone is always looking after us when we are not at work.

Cyviz has a streamlined IT platform with all IT infrastructure in the cloud. But like many international companies, Simon and his colleague are faced with the challenge of different approaches to corporate IT policies.
- "We find, as I'm sure many companies do, that some employees occasionally take liberties and deviate from established processes - often citing project importance or time pressure," says Berntsen. "In our case, such deviations could have led to a real security incident. Fortunately, Netsecurity detected these deviations in time and the danger was effectively eliminated.
The introduction of Netsecurity's SOC and IRT service took place without disrupting the employees' working day - it has all been seamless and unproblematic. Most people hardly noticed that anything had changed - just the way good security should work.
When Berntsen joined Cyviz three years ago, responsibility for IT security had been outsourced to a third-party supplier, without necessarily providing the security expected. The responsibility was quickly brought back to Cyviz, and the company's needs became clear right from the start:
-"We didn't just need a new supplier - we needed a true security partner," explains Berntsen. - "With Netsecurity, we feel that we have hit the bull's eye.

Netsecurity's SOC (Security Operations Center) monitors Cyviz's systems 24/7, and handles incidents when the IT department is not at work within the framework provided. Cyviz also uses Netsecurity's email phishing simulations to increase employee awareness and email phishing reporting to Netsecurity.
- "When an employee reports an email and wonders if it's phishing, it's crucial to provide feedback quickly. We haven't had the opportunity to deliver this ourselves, but with the help of the phishing reporting service, employees get answers faster than we expected.
- For us, this is worth more than a normal insurance policy because we get help before the damage happens. It also gives our customers confidence that we take safety seriously.

Cyviz works with large, global players that place strict demands on data security. In sales processes, the company must be able to document both preparedness and compliance.
- Netsecurity provides us with clear reports and recommendations that we can use with customers who have questions about our security work. This allows us to show that we are professional and credible to our customers. The management is very pleased," says Simon.
Cyviz and Netsecurity have monthly status meetings where trends, recommendations and measures are discussed. In larger projects, Cyviz hires security experts from Netsecurity - and envisions using the service even more in the future.
- "We've gone from a situation where we hoped things would go well to one where we actually know we're in control. Netsecurity is a partner that protects the entire organization," says Berntsen.
